WHOLESALE INFLATION INDEX
In Ecolatina we generate our own Consumer Price Index.
The CPI Ecolatina measures the evolution of prices in different sales spots in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires over the base of our own surveying and polls that follow the methodology applied by INDEC up until the end of 2006.
CPI Ecolatina is calculated over the base of objective information surveyed along with Tomadato S.A, a leading company in price auditing. This association guarantees the solidity and consistency of primary information, which is the base of the statistics that are monthly issued.
CPI Ecolatina is a tool that allows for the reduction of uncertainty and, in this way, to make better decisions. Currently, businesses in different sectors use our indicator in diverse areas of business such as Human Resources, Finances, Purchasing and Logistics and Commercialization.

Methodological Aspects:
- Statistics estimator of average evolution of goods and services prices.
- Coverage area: Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and 24 boroughs of Greater Buenos Aires.
- Fixed sample of supermarkets, hypermarkets and specific businesses by area.
- Surveying throughout the month.
- Sample size: 500 goods and services, selected from the public opening of the GBA CPI.
- Robustness: More than 20,000 prices are observed per month.
- Calculation formula: Laspeyres Index
